Annual Reports to the Public

The Annual Reports summarize the accomplishments of Macon County Schools during the 2020 school year and are built on the district's mission, containing goals, priorities, and indicators of school success. Reports are always a year in arrears. As well, the 2020-2021 Continuous Improvement Plans and other district plans are provided for public review, and public comments to include concerns, complaints, recommendations, and commendations are taken at any time at suptbrooks044@gmail.com.  Due to the pandemic, the district is currently operating using critical academic standards and the the2021-2022 Reopening Plan. The publication of these reports ensures that Macon County Schools are in compliance with the Alabama Department of Education's Accountability Requirement.

Annual Reports & Continuous Improvement Plans

Each fall the central office administration, principals, and program leaders develop Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs) to guide their work on school goals and priorities. At the end of each school year, the schools also develop an Annual Report that summarizes progress made on goals and priorities.

Continuous improvement in Macon County School is a cycle that begins in the summer with the analysis of data related to both student achievement and system quality. Areas for improvement are identified along with strategies for addressing the areas in need of improvement. Continuous Improvement Plans, published in the early fall, focus the work of the entire system, from the superintendent to the classroom teacher, on the identified goals and objectives. Periodic reviews of each plan are conducted throughout the year, and a final report is issued in the early fall to document the district's progress toward the goals and objectives.

To be effective, the practice of continuous improvement must become an integral part of the culture of Macon County Schools. Using data to determine needs within the system, identifying goals and strategies to meet those needs, and engaging in a cycle of action and reflection will enable our school system to continuously improve. We are committed to making continuous improvement a guiding force in our ongoing work with students and families.
