Greetings Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year here at George Washington Carver Elementary
School. My name is Mrs. Huguley, and I am your child’s Kindergarten Teacher. I look forward
to working as a team with each of you. My class motto is “Together Everyone Achieves
More” (TEAM). I will at all times put forth my very best effort to effectively educate
your child. And I ask that you put forth your very best effort to help your child and
me. Listed below are a few things that will help us reach our goal of effectively
educating our children.
1. Please have your child at school every day by 7:30am. My instructional teaching starts promptly at 7:45-8:00 am. My schedule starts with reading from 8:05 - 10:25 which includes (Sunday System, Open Court, Letters & Sounds, phonics, whole group and small group). 10:30 - 11:00 ( P.E), 11:00 - 11:30 (lunch), 11:05 - 12:45 (math), 12:50 - 1:20 (Hand writing). 1:25 - 1:55 (ss & science). 1:55 - 2;10 (snack). 2:15 - 2:30 (reinforcing skills that were taught that day, using educational games through technology and other resources to help teach the standards used through Common Core). This is why I need all students in place and ready to learn in person @7:45. On Wednesday's, check your child's monthly calenda
r for PD Days that are just for Teacher's. Dismissal is 2:30 - 2:45pm.This is for all students who are car and van riders, pick-up's, and bus riders.
2. Discipline is a must. Your child must follow all classroom and school rules. Which are;
1. Raise your hand when you want to speak or ask a question.
2. Always keep your hands and feet to yourselves.
3. Always keep your mask on your face which should cover your nose and mouth at all times.
4. Homework will be placed daily in your blue folder. So Please check your child’s folder for their assignments and behavior everyday.
