I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child this school year. I love teaching because I care deeply about each of my students. However, this year I have assumed another position as the Academic Coach for Notasulga High School. Working indirectly with the students allows me to work directly with your child's teacher gives me an opportunity to assist teachers in securing much needed resources for carrying out the school improvement plans; ensure best practices are being utilized in the classroom; and facilitating continuous assessment of student progress.
This new undertaking gives me an opportunity to share a world of exploration and discovery with teachers and students. I believe students can grow and develop by examining the issues we cover in class. My main goal this year is to provide teachers with appropriate resources that will foster growth in students' academic and cognitive development . Over the course of this school year, I will assist teachers in developing classroom management strategies that foster a climate conducive to academic achievement for students in all subgroups for the purpose of raising achievement and addressing the academic needs of ALL (K-12) students.
As an effective educator, it is my duty to stimulate and nurture the student's interests, senses and curiosities that impact them in their day-to-day living and surroundings. Being a graduate of Alabama State University (Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees), I have been trained to be self-reflective and an advocate for young children. Generally speaking, to make you an equal partner in this educational process I encourage [as well as you read with] your child to read a story each night for at least 30 minutes. Parental involvement, good communication between parent, teacher and student is very important for your child's academic growth. I look forward to getting to know you (parents/guardians) as an equal partner in your child/children learning experience.
