I was born October 6, 1964 in Tuskegee, Alabama and attended public school in Macon County, Alabama. I am married to Mary C. Turner and have two boys, Phillip and Kelton. After graduating from Tuskegee Institute High School, I attended Alabama State University graduating in 1989 with a B.S degree in Finance. I also attended Grambling State University on a graduate assistantship graduating with a M.S degree in International Business and Trade. I furthered my education by attending Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama earning a M.S degree in Business Education. I enjoy working with my students, helping them to achieve their dreams. In my spare time, I like to travel, go to the movies, attend football and basketball games and ride ATVs with my boys. I teach at the Macon County Career and Technical Education Center in the Business Education Department. I am also an adjunct instructor at Trenholm State Community College in Montogmery, Alabama where I teach in the Office Administration Department.
I caught the teaching bug while attending Grambling State University and again as an adjunct instructor at Alabama State University. I get excited when teaching young people because it affords me the opportunity to be involved in the shaping of young lives. I believe that education is one of the foundations of success for youth to achieve their dreams. Teachers have the unique ability to reach into a child’s inside and bring out the best in them. Teaching also provides me the opportunity to make an earnest living and do something that will implore others to succeed and become what they dream about. I believe that good teachers make a difference and I aspire to be a great teacher.
