During the month of June 2014, students in the FFA Program in Macon County Public School System had the opportunity to attend their student convention in Montgomery, Alabama at the Renaissance Hotel and Conference Center. The event was planned by Mr. Tracy Stacy, EdS who is the FFA (Future Farmers of America) Chapter Advisor. Mr. Stacy’s teacher leader in the development and coordination of the students for this summer activity was above expectation. These students will be working with Mr. Stacy all summer developing their leadership skills within the area of AgriScience, Marketing, Workforce Needs, and Community Cultivation. I am pleased with the students dedication towards this program and their career development. Equally, I am appreciative towards the teaching and learning experiences that Mr. Stacy provides his students via this extended summer learning initiative. Great things happen in Career and Technical Education in the Macon County Public School System.
We had an opportunity to expose our students to the FFA State Convention. The students participated in team building workshops, the award show for State CDE's and in the Fight the Hunger Campaign and prepared over 75'000 boxes of food that will feed over 1 million people

My experience at the 86th Annual FFA Conference was very exciting and informative. I learned a lot and plan to be a part of it for the rest of my years in high school. I listened to all the achievements and awards that were given motivated me as an FFA member to be a part of more events. Having a goal and striving for nothing but success, gives you great leadership skills, which I plan to obtain more of.
